FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Everything we get asked most, plus how THE READ compares with spreadsheets and generic recruiting tools.

Frequently asked questions.

Is THE READ available right now?

THE READ is in an early-access stage. This website describes the planned product and lets you request access or a demo. The product preview uses fictional data.

Who can verify an athlete’s metrics?

Verified Data Providers, a free role. High School Coaches and Private Instructors are verifiers (Provider Types), along with showcase and event organizers and other approved providers. Each metric is confirmed separately.

Does an athlete have to pay?

No. The athlete profile is free. Athletes control which programs can see their information.

What is the difference between Recruit Score and Staff Score?

Recruit Score is objective and universal, built from verified data. Staff Score is a private opinion from your own staff. They are never blended. See How scoring works.

Can coaches edit an athlete’s objective grades?

No. Verified objective grades are locked. Any correction creates an audit-trail entry showing who changed what, when, and why.

How do you protect minors’ information?

We plan role-based access, athlete and guardian visibility controls, and limited contact data. Read the security and privacy page.

Does THE READ make NCAA compliance decisions?

No. We provide reminders and logs to help staff, but compliance decisions belong to your institution and the official NCAA/NAIA rules.

Which sports are supported?

Baseball, softball, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, and wrestling are covered in the sport guide. We are starting with baseball.

How do forms on this website work?

They check your answers in the browser, then open a pre-filled email to hello@thereadathletics.com. Nothing is stored on the website.

How much does it cost?

See pricing. Prices may change.
